The Cathars left many secrets within the walls of Carcassonne. Discover all the myths and legends when you take our fantastic private tour.

Private Tour Details

Join us to uncover the secrets of the Cathars in southern France. We will meet at the Narbonne Gate of Carcassonne at the scheduled time to begin our two-hour private tour of one of the best-preserved walled cities in Europe.

During this tour, we will explore the historic center of Carcassonne and learn about its medieval defensive architecture, including a total of 52 towers, built for protection and surveillance against attacks. The tour will cover the main enemies of Carcassonne.

We will delve into the origins of the walls of Carcassonne and the history of its main landmarks, including the basilica of Saint-Nazaire, which features a mix of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Its stained glass windows create a distinctive play of light within the temple.

Optionally, we can visit two key attractions: the Condal Castle and the Museum of the Inquisition. The tour will conclude in the old town after the two-hour guided experience.
