The Cathars left many secrets within the walls of Carcassonne. Discover all the myths and legends when you take our private tour.

Private Tour Details

Join us to explore the secrets of the Cathars in the south of France. We will meet in front of the Narbonne Gate of Carcassonne, where we will begin our private tour of one of the best-preserved walled cities in Europe.

For two hours, we will stroll through the historic center of Carcassonne and learn about its past, including its medieval defensive architecture with a total of 52 towers, built for city protection and surveillance. The tour will reveal the main enemies of Carcassonne.

We will also discuss the origins of the walls of Carcassonne and the main monuments of the medieval city, including the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire, known for its combination of Romanesque and Gothic architecture and its unique stained glass windows.

Optionally, we can visit two of the main tourist attractions: the Condal Castle and the Museum of the Inquisition. The two-hour guided tour will conclude in the old town.
