Matanzas & Bellamar Caves Experience
We will begin the adventure by picking you up from your Varadero hotel at the scheduled time, embarking on our journey to the city of Matanzas.
Initially, we will delve into the rich history of this coastal metropolis with a scenic tour. Key highlights include Plaza de la Libertad and the exquisite neoclassical and baroque Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo, along with Plaza de la Vigia, where tales of pirate raids from yesteryears will come alive.
Continuing our exploration, we will make our way to the viewpoint at the Hermitage of Montserrate. Here, the breathtaking views of the Yumurí valley and Matanzas city unfold before your eyes. It’s said that this was a favorite spot of Federico García Lorca during his visit to Cuba.
Our next stop will be at the Bellamar Caves, estimated to be over 300,000 years old. As we navigate through the incredible stalactites and stalagmites, you will discover various unique halls, including the Manto de Colón, Paso de la Lluvia, and Huerto de las Zanahorias. The captivating formations within these caves are sure to mesmerize you!
Concluding our experience, we’ll return you to your Varadero hotel, wrapping up the tour after approximately four and a half hours of exploration.
