Cabo de Palos Lighthouse Guided Tour

On this guided tour of the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse, we will enjoy the views from this famous monument and learn about its history while climbing to the top, almost 80 metres (260 feet) above sea level.

Description

At the indicated time, we will meet at the entrance to the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse. We will climb to the highest point to observe the Murcian coast from the top.

Built in the mid-19th century, the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse replaced the old watch tower for the Murcian city. It has lit up the Costa Calida daily, guiding boats safely around the rocks.

It is one of the tallest lighthouses in Spain. We will discuss its history, the projects that sponsored its construction, and the importance of the Cabo de Palos Marine Reserve.

After a historical introduction about the lighthouse esplanade, we will climb more than 300 stairs to reach its balcony approximately 80 metres (260 feet) above sea level. This vantage point offers views of the Mediterranean, Cabo de Palo, and La Manga del Mar Menor. Time for photos!

We will learn how the lighthouse works and additional facts, including details about boats that have sunk nearby. The tour will conclude after 45 minutes at the initial meeting point.
