The museum was built in a tunnel on the slopes of Concepción Hill. This site was among many air raid shelters constructed during the Spanish Civil War in response to bombing raids by the rebel side, with the most intense attack occurring on 25th November 1936 by the Condor Legion.

With this ticket, you can stroll through the galleries and listen to the testimonies of affected individuals. You'll learn about the organisation of the defence and the conflict's impact on their lives, complemented by audiovisual materials with real images and sounds from this historical period.

Opening hours

The Civil War Shelters Museum has the following opening hours:

1st July to 15th September: Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm.15th March to 30th June / 16th September to 1st November: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm.2nd November to 14th March: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm.5th January and 24th and 31st December: open only from 10 am to 2 pm.

Please note that the last access is an hour before closing time.

Reduced fare

The reduced fare is available to children under 12 years old, students up to 25 years old, Youth Card holders, the unemployed, pensioners, disabled individuals, large families, and groups of 20 or more.
