The museum was built in a tunnel on the slopes of Concepción Hill, serving as one of many air raid shelters constructed during the Spanish Civil War due to bombing raids by the rebel side. The heaviest attack occurred on 25th November 1936, when the Condor Legion subjected the city to intense bombardment.

With this ticket, you can stroll through the galleries and listen to testimonies of those affected, learning how the defence was organised and the changes caused by this conflict. Additionally, you’ll have access to audiovisual material with real images and sounds from this period of Spanish history.

Opening hours

The Civil War Shelters Museum has the following opening hours:

1st July to 15th September: Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm.15th March to 30th June / 16th September to 1st November: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm.2nd November to 14th March: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm.5th January and 24th and 31st December: open only from 10 am to 2 pm.

Please note that the last access is an hour before closing time.

Reduced fare

The reduced fare is available to children under 12 years, students up to 25 years, Youth Card holders, the unemployed, pensioners, the disabled, large families, and groups of 20 or more.
