This ticket allows you to explore Carthago Nova's Roman past through archaeological pieces found around the Roman Theatre of Cartagena. The museum integrates ancient buildings like the Riquelme Palace and the church of Santa Maria. Your visit begins in the Pascual Riquelme Palace, featuring a corridor highlighting the theater's discovery and excavation history. Here, you can access a room displaying significant objects, including jewellery, statues, vessels, and the three aras dedicated to the Capitoline Triad.

Next, you will traverse a tunnel under the medieval church leading to the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, one of Spain's largest theaters. You'll see remains of its stage front, orchestra for patricians, and the cavea, where citizens of Cathago Nova sat arranged by social class. This theater, accommodating 7000 people, was active until the 2nd century and was rejuvenated through 90's excavations and architect Rafael Moneo's design.

Opening Hours

The Roman Theatre Museum operates at the following times:

From May 1 to September 30 and Easter: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm, Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm.From October 1 to April 30: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm.On December 24 and 31, and January 5, the museum is open only from 10 am to 2 pm.

The last access is one hour before closing. Hours are subject to change, and queuing may be required.

Discounted tickets

Students under 25, holders of a youth card, unemployed, retired individuals, those with disabilities, and large families can book discounted tickets by presenting the appropriate accreditation.
