Castillo de la Concepción and Panoramic Lift

Description

Since the 13th century, the Castillo de la Concepción has been a fundamental bastion of Cartagena's history. This medieval fortress defended the city during the reign of Alfonso X and symbolizes the Cartagena of the 18th century. The panoramic lift, which is 45 meters high, provides privileged views of Cartagena and its port. From the glass cabin, you can see key structures like the Roman amphitheatre, the bullring, and the Hospital de Marina.

At the top, you will enter the fortress and visit the Interpretation Centre, where you can learn about the historical heritage of the Castillo de la Concepción and view preserved architectural elements such as old cisterns and capitals.

Panoramic Lift Ticket

If you prefer not to enter the castle, you can book a ticket for the panoramic lift to enjoy the view from the viewpoint. Access to the lift is from Gisbert Street.

Los Viajes de Leonardo Exhibition

Until October 5, the castle features the temporary exhibition of Los Viajes de Leonardo, showcasing over one hundred inventions and paint replicas related to Da Vinci's works. All visitors pay a single rate during this exhibition period.

Final admission is one hour before closing time.

Reduced Ticket

Students under 25 years, young people with a youth card, unemployed, retired individuals, disabled persons, and large families can book a reduced rate with proper identification.
