Baru PADI Open Water Diver Course
Day 1: Theory and practice in confined waters
Participants will meet at Afrocorales Beach Club in Baru. Equipment will be distributed, and diving techniques will be explained, including the operation of diving equipment, orientation underwater, and air tank usage. Communication underwater will also be covered.
After the theory, participants will practice in a confined water environment, learning to set up and adjust diving equipment, practice breathing underwater, and enhance buoyancy skills. This will help gain confidence before diving in open waters.
Days 2 & 3: Open Water Dives
On Day 2, participants will meet at the same location for 2 dives in the National Natural Park of Corales del Rosario and San Bernardo Islands. Dives will include observing coral reefs and various sea creatures.
On Day 3, there will be 2 more dives in the waters around Baru, where participants can see turtles, trumpet fish, parrot fish, and barracudas. The course concludes with an exam for the official PADI Open Water certification, allowing participants to dive up to 20 metres (65 feet) deep anywhere in the world. Participants have up to 10 days to prepare for the theory exams.
