Embark on a day excursion to Santa Marta and Barranquilla from Cartagena de Indias, where we will uncover the essence of two of Colombia's largest cities!

Overview of the Day Trip

Your adventure will commence with a pickup from your hotel in Cartagena de Indias at the specified time, setting off on a scenic drive that lasts about 3 hours until we arrive at our first stop.

Our initial visit will be to Barranquilla, also known as the "Golden Gate of Colombia". As we navigate through its key attractions, you will gain insights into the historical and cultural context of the city. Highlights include the vibrant Window to the World monument and the scenic river boardwalk, where you can fully appreciate the allure of Barranquilla. Don’t miss the chance to take a photo next to the iconic Barranquilla letters and admire the striking Pumarejo Bridge.

Following Barranquilla, we'll proceed towards Santa Marta, affectionately referred to as the "Pearl of America". Here, a guided tour will allow you to appreciate the city's historic architecture, especially the magnificent white cathedral, which holds the title as the oldest in South America. Discover the captivating tales associated with the cathedral and the prominent individual interred within its walls.

Our journey through Santa Marta concludes at Parque de los Novios, where the statue of Simón Bolívar stands. We will explore the legacy of this liberator while admiring the exterior of the nearby renowned Gold Museum.

As part of our Santa Marta experience, we will also pause at El Rodadero Beach. Enjoy a delightful lunch featuring traditional Colombian dishes at a local eatery.

We will wrap up our enriching day before heading back to Cartagena de Indias, completing our memorable journey after about 17 hours of exploration.
