6-Day Tour of Morocco's Imperial Cities & Merzouga Desert

In Casablanca, a 6-day tour of the Imperial Cities of Morocco includes visits to Meknes, Rabat, Fez, Volubilis, and the desert, concluding in Marrakesh.

Tour Details

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat

Pickup from your hotel or airport in Casablanca at the scheduled time. Visit the Hassan II Mosque and explore the Casablanca Medina before heading to Rabat for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

After breakfast, tour Rabat's Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and Kasbah of the Udayas. Next, travel to Meknes to explore the souqs and Mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, followed by the ruins of Volubilis. End the day in Fez.

Day 3: Fez

Explore Fez after breakfast, visiting the Marinid Tombs, Jewish Quarter Mellah, and Arms Museum. Stroll through the Medina and then return to the hotel for the night.

Day 4: Fez – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, travel through the cedar forests of Azrou to Ziz Valley, passing through Midelt and Erfoud. Enjoy a camel ride in Merzouga before staying overnight in traditional tents at a campsite.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todgha Gorges & Dades Valley

Experience sunrise in the Merzouga desert, followed by breakfast. Travel to Todgha Gorges for scenic views, then check into a hotel in Dades Valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakesh

Have breakfast and drive down the Road of the 1000 Kasbahs to Skoura. Visit Ait-Ben-Haddou and cross the Atlas mountains, arriving in Marrakesh at 6:30 pm, concluding the tour.

Tour Accommodation

The tour includes 5 nights in double rooms with breakfast:
Rabat (3 stars): Hôtel des Oudaïas, Hotel Malak, or similar.Fez (3 stars): Riad Dar Skalli, Riad Letchina, or similar.Dades Valley (3 stars): Auberge Panorama, or similar.

On day four, stay in haimas in Merzouga. Standard haimas (up to 4 people) and premium haimas (up to 5 people) have private bathrooms. No individual rooms are available; additional fees apply for solo travelers.

Pickup & End Points

The tour starts in Casablanca, with options for pickup at the airport, hotel, or a central location. The tour ends in Marrakesh, with the option to stay or be taken to the airport.

Itinerary Adjustments

Meknes is currently closed for renovations, and the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate is also closed, although exterior photos are permitted.
