Calling all cheese lovers! Come on a guided tour of the Doña Francisca cheese factory, discover the production processes of artisanal cheeses and even try them for yourself!
Cheese Factory Tour & Tasting
We'll meet at 11 am at the main entrance to the Doña Francisca cheese factory, before starting our tour to learn about the production processes. The tour includes exploring the milk rooms, maturation, and shipping areas.
The Doña Francisca factory produces artisanal cheeses such as the famous Torta del Casa, recognized with the DOP stamp (Protected Designation of Origin), symbolizing the province of Caceres. The Torta "Virgen del Prado", named the third-best cheese in the world, is also produced here.
After the tour, we'll go to the tasting room. Participants will taste 10 different kinds of cheese, learning to distinguish their tastes, aromas, and textures. The cheese tasting will include a glass of wine from the region or mineral water upon request.
The activity will conclude at 12:30 pm.
