Tour of Cascais, Cabo da Roca & Boca do Inferno
Cascais has attracted artists and aristocrats since the 19th century, offering palaces, beaches, and scenic views. The tour begins at the train station in Cascais at 10 am, where participants will board a minibus to the first stop: the Santuario da Peninha.
This site features an 18th-century chapel and a 20th-century palace, situated on a hill providing views of the coast and Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
The next stop is Cabo da Roca, cliffs approximately 459 feet (140 metres) high, recognized as the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Here, there will be time for photos at the lighthouse, the third oldest in Portugal, before traveling back to Cascais via Cresmina Dune for coffee and photo opportunities.
While returning, views of Praia do Guincho beach, a surfer's destination, can be appreciated. The penultimate stop is Boca do Inferno, located just 5 minutes from central Cascais, known for its cave and local legends.
The tour concludes with a one-hour visit to the historical center of Cascais, exploring its streets and architecture. The tour returns to the train station at around 3 pm.
