Calanques National Park Hike
- 4 Stunden
Combine breathtaking nature and sport in one morning on our Calanques National Park Hike. We'll see spectacular coves and discover how this place on the Côte d'Azur was formed.
Calanques National Park Hike
At the scheduled time, we'll see you on Avenue des Calanques, in Cassis. From here, we'll start a nature walk through the eastern part of the Calanques National Park.
You will explore limestone mountains, shaped over 120 million years. A calanque is a valley excavated by a river, later flooded by the sea 12,000 years ago, creating a scenic area surrounded by rocky peaks.
During the tour, we'll walk along the coastline of Cassis to visit the calanques, beginning with Port-Miou. This mile-long (1.5 kilometre) calanque extends towards the mainland. We'll visit the marina, discuss an old quarry, and the underground river in the area.
Continuing along the coast, we'll reach Port-Pin and ascend to the Calanque d'En-Vau viewpoint, standing at almost 400 feet (120 metres) high, providing stunning views of Calanques National Park.
After the tour, which includes several stops and a break for a swim, we will conclude the hiking route back at the starting point.
