Papal Palace & Secret Garden Ticket
At the indicated time, you'll be able to enter the Castel Gandolfo Palace in Piazza della Libertà with your ticket to visit the Pope's historic summer residence. The complex is now a museum as ordered by Pope Francis to allow public access. The ticket includes access to the Secret Garden and the Apostolic Palace, where you can explore various rooms, such as the throne room and the gallery of Benedict XIV. A view of the balcony where the Popes prayed the Angelus in summer is also included. The visit lasts one hour and does not include a guide or an audio guide.
Castel Gandolfo Pontifical Villas Tour
For a more comprehensive visit, meet in Piazza della Libertà to enter a vehicle for a tour of the extensive gardens of the papal villas, covering 55 hectares (135 acres). The tour includes the remains of the Roman villa of Emperor Domitian with an English audio guide featuring facts about the Popes. Several stops will be made to explore historical sites like the Villa Barberini, Garden of the Moor, and Villa Cybo. You'll learn about the history of these locations while appreciating the gardens and sculptures. The tour lasts one hour, returning to the starting point afterward.
