When booking, you can choose between the following options:
Papal Palace & Secret Garden Ticket
At the indicated time, you'll enter the Castel Gandolfo Palace in Piazza della Libertà. This site was formerly the Pope's summer residence, now converted into a museum by Pope Francis.
Your ticket includes access to the Secret Garden and the Apostolic Palace, allowing you to explore its various rooms, including the throne room, the hall of the Swiss guard, the astronomical observatory, and the gallery of Benedict XIV. You will also visit the balcony where the Popes prayed the Angelus every Sunday in summer.
The visit will last one hour and will not include a guide or an audio guide.
Castel Gandolfo Pontifical Villas Tour
This option offers a more comprehensive visit. We will meet in Piazza della Libertà and drive through the extensive gardens of the papal villas, spanning 55 hectares (135 acres).
You will admire the remains of the Roman villa of Emperor Domitian and learn about various Popes through an audio guide in English. You will also visit historically significant places like the Villa Barberini, the Garden of the Moor, and the Villa Cybo.
The tour will make several stops for exploration, concluding after one hour back at the starting point.
