Start your adventure in the Baroque heart of the I Quattro Canti, where you will travel the ancient axis of the city towards the Palazzo Alliata di Villafranca, one of the richest residences of the Palermitan aristocracy, which among its admirably restored halls preserves a beautiful Crucified Christ by Van Dick.
Continue as you make your way to the Praetorian Fountain or "della Vergogna", one of the most curious fountains in the city that hides stories and anecdotes from the past. Just a stone's throw away in Piazza Bellini, admire the 12th-century domes of the San Cataldo Church.
Next, marvel at the beauty of the Church of Santa Caterina before walking the haunting alleyways of the Guilds of craftsmen and judges that accompanied the "Inquisition" to Death. You will be introduced to the stories of "The Leopard" (Il Gattopardo) admiring from the outside the terrace of the Palazzo Valguarnera-Gangi, the location of the famous Visconti film, before reaching the square decorated by the splendid Gothic rose window of the church of San Francesco d'Assisi. From there you will discover the richest and darkest centuries of Spanish Sicily.
Admire the centuries-old ficus magnolioides of the Garibaldi Garden at Piazza Marina, once a place reserved for the Condemnations and Tortures of the Holy Inquisition. Finish the tour in the district of La Cala, the old port, where you can taste traditional Sicilian ice cream and cannoli.
