Grau de Castelló Guided Tour
We'll meet at 11:30 am at 28 Paseo de Buenavista. The tour begins by admiring the modernist houses built in the area during the first decades of the 20th century.
After learning about the history of these houses, we will continue to La Panderola Park to see an old locomotive from the railway line that connected El Grau with Castellón. Next, we'll visit the Museum of the Sea to learn about the local seafaring tradition.
Our next stop will be the historic centre to see the San Pedro Church and the fish market. Nearby, we will also visit the Sailing Club located next to the loading and unloading docks.
The route continues along Plaza del Mar and the Puerto Azahar esplanada, the liveliest part of El Grau, featuring various leisure and restaurant establishments. We can also watch boats setting sail for the Columbretes Islands, located 50 kilometres off the coast of Castellón.
The tour will end at 1 pm next to the Puerto Azahar lighthouse, a 19th-century symbol of Grau de Castellón, moved stone by stone to its current location.
