Tour the coastal district of Castellón de la Plana with this Grau de Castelló Guided Tour, where you'll discover its modernist houses and its seafaring tradition.
Grau de Castelló Guided Tour
We'll meet at 11:30 am at 28 Paseo de Buenavista. From this central point in Grau de Castelló, the tour will begin by admiring the modernist houses built in the area during the first decades of the 20th century.
After learning about the history of these houses, the tour will continue to La Panderola Park, where we will see an old locomotive from the railway line that connected El Grau with the city of Castellón. The next stop is the Museum of the Sea, to learn about the deep-rooted seafaring tradition of the area.
We will then visit the historic centre to see the San Pedro Church and the fish market. Nearby, we will also explore the Sailing Club, located next to the loading and unloading docks.
The route continues along Plaza del Mar and the Puerto Azahar esplanada, which is the liveliest area of El Grau with various leisure and restaurant establishments. Next to the docks, we can watch boats setting sail for the Columbretes Islands, located 50 kilometres off the coast of Castellón.
The tour will conclude at 1 pm next to the Puerto Azahar lighthouse, a symbol of Grau de Castelló that dates back to the 19th century and was relocated stone by stone to its current position.
