Discover one of Castellon's tucked away gems with our Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla Tour. You'll learn about mining techniques from many years ago and visit Culla, the home of the Knights Templar.

Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla Tour

We'll meet in front of the Castellón Tourist Office at 9:10 am and board a minibus to Upper Maestrazgo. The Maestrazgo Mining Park is located in this region. A mining train will take us to the entrance of the Victoria Mine. With safety helmets on, we'll enter the underground cavity to discover the work of miners from hundreds of years ago and understand their methods and the minerals extracted.

You'll see several mining tools, original carts, and explanatory panels about daily life in the Maestrazgo Mining Park.

Afterward, we'll return to the train and head to the Esperanza Mine. Here, we'll focus on the natural conditions of the caves, discussing geological phenomena, shafts, and centuries-old stalactites.

Next, we'll take a minibus to Culla, a town with medieval and Templar roots. As we explore this town's connection to the Order of the Temple, we'll pass by the 11th-century castle, the Commander's granary, and the old hospital.

Finally, we'll return to Castellón de la Plana, arriving around 1:50 pm.
