Traiguera & Cervera del Maestre Day Trip

We'll meet outside the Castellón de la Plana Tourist Office in the Plaza de la Hierba. Upon arrival, we'll board a bus to Traiguera.

In Traiguera, we'll visit a farm with thousand-year-old olive trees, including the award-winning best monumental olive tree in Spain. We'll learn about local olive oil production and participate in an olive oil tasting with typical cold meats.

Next, we'll drive to Cervera del Maestre to explore traditions related to olive groves at the Oil Mill Visitor Centre, dating back to the Medieval period.

After this visit, we'll tour the town, walking through its cobbled streets and observing its buildings. We will see the exterior of the medieval castle, which offers views of the Maestrazgo region.

We'll then return to Traiguera to visit the Royal Sanctuary Virgen Fuente de la Salud, an Asset of Cultural Interest from the 14th century featuring Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural elements. Highlights include the old pilgrim's hospice, frescoes on the sanctuary's vault, the palace, and the priests' house.

Our day trip concludes between 2:30 pm and 3 pm at the starting point.
