- 2 Bewertungen
On this day trip, we'll explore the coastal gems of Paita and Colán, and make a visit to a basilica declared a National Historic Monument.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel before making our way to the coastal town of Paita.
Upon arrival, we'll head to the port for a 20-minute cruise on a traditional boat, seeking out sea lions and observing birds such as the blackish oystercatcher, brown pelican, and blue-footed booby.
Throughout the tour, you'll sample Peruvian chifles, a delicacy consisting of fried plantain. Afterward, we'll head to Yacila Beach, a 0.5 kilometre (0.8 mile) stretch of fine sand beach, where you'll have the chance to take a dip.
We'll then travel to Colán to visit the church of San Lucas, a 16th-century basilica built on the ruins of a pre-Hispanic temple of Capullanas, the first chapel in the South Pacific.
At the end of the visit, you'll have 1 hour of free time to grab a bite to eat and relax at the Colán Beach Resort, with emerald waters surrounded by palm trees. Be aware of potential manta rays in the area.
Finally, we'll return to Piura, expected to arrive at your hotel 8 hours and 20 minutes after pickup.
