On this day trip, we'll explore the coastal towns of Paita and Colán, and visit a basilica declared a National Historic Monument.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel and head to the coastal town of Paita.
Upon arrival, we'll go to the port and embark on a 20-minute cruise on a traditional boat to seek out sea lions and observe birds such as the blackish oystercatcher, brown pelican, and blue-footed booby.
During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to sample Peruvian chifles, a delicacy made from fried plantain. Next, we'll visit Yacila Beach, a 0.5 kilometre (0.8 mile) stretch of fine sand beach, where you'll have the chance to take a dip.
Then we will travel to Colán to visit the church of San Lucas, a 16th-century basilica built on the ruins of a pre-Hispanic temple of Capullanas, which is the first chapel in the South Pacific.
At the end of the visit, you will have 1 hour of free time to eat and relax at the Colán Beach Resort, featuring emerald waters and palm trees. Keep an eye out for manta rays in the area.
Finally, we will return to Piura and expect to arrive at your hotel 8 hours and 20 minutes after the pickup.
