Our historical exploration begins at 9 am with pickup from your accommodation in Piura.

The initial highlight of our tour will be Plaza de Armas, the vibrant heart of the city. Here, we will admire the Catedral de Piura, a remarkable structure built in the 16th century dedicated to San Miguel, whose intriguing backstory you'll discover through your guide's narration. Following this, we will visit the Casa Museo Almirante Miguel Grau, a significant building that was rebuilt in 1964 after being damaged by an earthquake in 1912.

After an optional visit to San Miguel Bridge and the Piura River, we will proceed to Simbila, a quaint village located about 5 km (3.1 miles) from Piura, known for its talented ceramic craftsmen. Not far from here lies the city of Catacaos, a destination growing in popularity within the Piura region.

Upon reaching Catacaos, you'll have a one-hour break to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on a guided tour of the historic area. Notable sites will include the Plaza de Armas, the Monumento al Bachiller Juan de Mori Alvarado, and the San Juan Bautista Temple. We will also visit Market Street to find some souvenirs from this famous ceramic hub.

As we wander through Catacaos, you will encounter delightful shops featuring a variety of local crafts. Along our journey, there will be a chance to taste some traditional sweets of the region. Get ready to discover the process of making the famous algarrobina, a sweet syrup. To wrap up our exploration, we will visit galleries showcasing handcrafted silver and gold items.

Our tour will come to a close as we return to Piura by 4 pm.
