Our first stop will be Plaza de Armas, the city's center, where we can see the Catedral de Piura, constructed in the 16th century in honor of San Miguel. We'll continue to the Casa Museo Almirante Miguel Grau, a building repaired in 1964 after being damaged in an earthquake in 1912.
After a guided visit to San Miguel Bridge and the Piura River (optional), we'll head towards Simbila, a village home to ceramic artisans. Close by is Catacaos, a popular city in the Piura region.
In Catacaos, you'll have a free hour for lunch at a local restaurant before a guided tour of the old city. Points of interest include Plaza de Armas, the Monumento al Bachiller Juan de Mori Alvarado, and the San Juan Bautista Temple. We will also visit Market Street for souvenirs.
We'll explore shops with region-specific products and have the opportunity to savor some typical sweets. You will learn about crafting the renowned algarrobina, a sweet syrup. The tour concludes with visits to galleries featuring artisanal silver and gold creations.
