  • 8/10 | 1 Bewertung

On this guided tour, discover some of the most iconic sites in Piura and visit Catacaos, a city known for its artisanal ceramic works and crafts!

Description

We'll start this historical tour at 9 am after pickup at your hotel in Piura.

Our first stop will be Plaza de Armas, the city's center. Here we can see the Catedral de Piura, constructed in the 16th century in honor of San Miguel. From here we'll continue to the Casa Museo Almirante Miguel Grau, which was repaired in 1964 by the Peruvian Navy after being destroyed in an earthquake in 1912.

After a guided visit to San Miguel Bridge and the Piura River, which is optional, we'll head towards Simbila, a small village about 5 km (3.1 miles) away, known for its ceramic artisans. Close by is Catacaos, a popular city in the Piura region.

Once we arrive at Catacaos, you'll have a free hour to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants before taking a guided tour of the old city. Points of interest include Plaza de Armas, the Monumento al Bachiller Juan de Mori Alvarado, and the San Juan Bautista Temple. We'll also visit Market Street for souvenirs.

As we stroll through Catacaos, we'll explore charming shops with region-specific products. Along the way, we'll have the opportunity to savor typical sweets and learn about crafting algarrobina, a sweet syrup. We'll conclude our journey in galleries filled with artisanal silver and gold creations.

We'll conclude the tour, returning to Piura at 4 pm.
