Tour Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start this day trip to Pantalica and Sortino.

After approximately 1 hour on the road, we'll arrive at the first destination of the day: the Pantalica Nature Reserve. This area was created for the protection of Sicily's native flora and fauna and features karst cavities, including the Grotta dei Pipistrelli (Bat Cave).

Within the reserve, we'll explore the Necropolis of Pantalica, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, containing around 5,000 tombs.

Next, we'll head to the village of Sortino, where you'll have free time for lunch and the opportunity to stroll its narrow streets, lined with baroque buildings such as the Chiesa madre di San Giovanni apostolo de evangelista, the Chiesa di Santa Sofia, and the Chiesa della Natività.

Sortino also has several museums, including the Casa museo dell’apicoltura tradizionale and the Museo Civico dell'Opera dei Pupi.

After a 1 hour and 30-minute tour of Sortino, we'll return to your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
