Baroque churches, Greek temples, and Roman buildings await you on this excursion to Noto, Syracuse, and Ortigia. Visit these three locations in southern Sicily and be mesmerized by their charm.

Syracuse, Noto & Ortigia Day Trip

After hotel pickup, we will board a minibus to start our excursion. Leaving Catania, we will travel for an hour to our first destination, Noto.

Syracuse is known for its beauty. We'll stroll through its streets and visit the Archaeological Park of the Neapolis, featuring Greek and Roman monuments. A guided tour will include the theater, an ancient sacrificial altar, a well-preserved amphitheater, and the Cave of the Cordeliers, historically used as a prison.

Next, we will board the minibus and head to Ortigia. A guided tour will take us through its historic center, highlighting the temple of Apollo, the cathedral, and the fountain of Arethusa. After the tour, there will be free time for lunch and exploration of Ortigia.

In the afternoon, we will travel to Noto, a late Baroque town designated as a World Heritage Site. We will discuss the earthquake that struck in the late 17th century, leading to architectural revival, and see landmarks like the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Nicolaci di Villadorata Palace.

After exploring Syracuse, we will return to Catania, concluding the excursion 9 hours later.
