Are you feeling a bit daredevil? Join us on this rafting adventure in Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, where we'll descend 5 different rapids.
Rafting in Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park
We'll meet up at 10 am at Rua Borba Gato in Cavalcante. After a safety briefing, we'll put on helmets and life vests, and prepare the rafts for the trip.
We'll travel along a 14-kilometer (8.7-mile) route on the river, navigating five rapids, including the adrenaline-pumping Funil do Paranã rapid.
Midway, we'll dock the rafts for a break and a chance to swim in the river. We will then get back on the rafts and continue to the native Kalunga community, where we'll visit a local member’s house.
Here, we will be served a typical Kalunga lunch featuring local products such as rice, beans, pasta, farofa, salad, fried plantain, cassava, chicken, and free-range eggs.
After lunch, we will visit the Tia Lió Kalunga Memorial and engage with matriarch Laila Procópia, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee for her advocacy for the Quilombo Kalunga territory.
We will conclude the trip with a walk back to the meeting point in Cavalcante, arriving by 4 pm.
