Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave Trip
Pickup is at 8 a.m. from your hotel in San Ignacio, followed by a journey of approximately one and a half hours to Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave, a prominent Mayan archaeological site in Belize.
Inside the cave, learn about Mayan beliefs surrounding death, including encounters with human skeletons aged over a thousand years, which were sacrifices to the god Chaac. The tour includes viewing up to 14 sets of human remains, with insights on burial practices and the history of the Crystal Maiden.
After a three-hour exploration, enjoy a lunch of rice, beans, chicken, and fried plantain before returning to San Ignacio, concluding the excursion at 5 p.m.
