Join us on a trip to the archaeological site of Caracol, the largest pre-Columbian city in Belize.
Caracol Trip
Pickup will be at 7 a.m. from your hotel, followed by a two-hour drive through the jungle, passing small Mayan villages. The destination is the archaeological site of Caracol.
The tour includes walking along paths that connect different areas of Caracol, with a stop at the Temple of Caana, the tallest temple in the country at almost 140 feet. Attendees will learn about the way of life of the 180,000 inhabitants of the Mayan city.
As we hike towards Pine Ridge Mountain, there will be opportunities to encounter native species such as the tapir. A picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, juice, and fruit will be provided. The visit also includes the On Pools River, known for its natural wells, and the Cold River Cave, which is 65 feet deep.
After the tour, we will return to San Ignacio, concluding the excursion around 5 p.m.
