Caracol Trip
We will pick you up at 7 a.m. at your hotel and depart from San Ignacio. The journey includes a two-hour drive through the jungle, passing small Mayan villages. We will arrive at the archaeological site of Caracol.
During the visit, we will explore the paths connecting various areas of Caracol and stop at the Temple of Caana, which is almost 140 feet high, the tallest in the country. The tour will provide insights into the lifestyle of the 180,000 inhabitants of the Mayan city.
As we hike towards Pine Ridge Mountain, we will observe native species such as the tapir. A picnic lunch will be provided, consisting of sandwiches, juice, and fruit. After lunch, we will proceed to the Rio On Pools river, featuring natural wells, and visit the Cold River Cave, which measures 65 feet deep.
We will return to San Ignacio and drop you off at your accommodation, concluding the excursion around 5 p.m.
