Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we will meet at Calle Gómez Calderón to commence the guided tour of Cazorla. The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours, including a one-hour walk around the town followed by the olive oil tasting. The tour will begin with an overview of the historical origins of Cazorla and the significance of the surrounding natural park. We will stroll along the Cerezuelo Riverwalk, observing various bird species, an old flour mill, and local flora, such as oak trees, yew trees, and fig trees.
Our first major stop will be the bóveda del río Cerezuelo, a vital historical site built in the 16th century that helped channel the river and aided the town's expansion. We will share the local legend and visit the remains of the Renaissance-style Church of Santa María de Gracia.
The tour concludes with an olive oil tasting lasting between 80 and 90 minutes in a local shop. Participants will learn to identify different categories of virgin olive oil through sensory games focusing on smell and taste. We will wrap up in the tasting room located in the historic center of Cazorla.
