Free tour por Cefalú

On this free tour of Cefalù, we will visit the historic center, the fishermen's quarter, and the Piazza del Duomo. We will also enter the Cathedral Basilica to admire its Byzantine mosaics.

Tour Highlights

We will meet at the train station in Cefalù to begin the tour of the city's main attractions.

The tour starts from Porta Terra, where we will observe the walls of the 4th century BC that protected the citadel during the Greek period.

Next, we will walk through the historic center of Cefalù along Corso Ruggero, viewing ancient craft stores, typical products, and noble residences like the Osterio Magno.

We will also visit the medieval washing area from the Arab period, where basins filled with water from the Cefalino River were used for washing clothes.

The free tour will then take us to the Marina, passing through Porta Pescara to reach the port and the fishing district, known for filming locations of Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and Indiana Jones.

Finally, we will visit Piazza del Duomo and enter the Cathedral Basilica of Cefalù, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to admire its Byzantine mosaics. The tour will conclude in the Norman quarter of Francavilla after two hours.
