Free tour por Cefalú

On this free tour of Cefalù, we'll visit the historic center, the fishermen's quarter, and the Piazza del Duomo, including the Cathedral Basilica to see its Byzantine mosaics.

Tour Highlights

We'll meet at the train station in Cefalù at the scheduled time, starting our exploration of the city's main attractions. Our first stop is Porta Terra, where we can see the walls of the 4th century BC that once protected the citadel during the Greek period.

Next, we'll proceed into the historic center of Cefalù, along Corso Ruggero, observing ancient craft stores and notable residences like the Osterio Magno.

We will also visit the medieval washing area from the Arab period, featuring basins filled with water from the Cefalino River.

Our tour continues to the Marina, passing through Porta Pescara to reach the fishing district, known for its appearance in films such as Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and Indiana Jones.

Following this, we'll go to Piazza del Duomo and enter the Cathedral Basilica of Cefalù, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to admire its remarkable Byzantine mosaics. The tour concludes in the Norman quarter of Francavilla after two hours.
