Huancas & Sonche Canyon Day Trip
The tour begins with a hotel pickup at the selected time, proceeding to Huancas, located under 10 kilometers north of Chachapoyas. We will reach the Sonche Canyon viewpoint, offering expansive views of the Amazon Andes and the deep geological canyon created by the Sonche River.
In Huancas, participants will learn about the ancient pottery techniques of local female potters, recognized as a cultural heritage of Peru. The session includes insights into the ceramics-making process and the traditional methods passed down from Huanca, Chachapoya, Inca, and Hispanic cultures.
On the return journey to Chachapoyas, there will be a stop at the Luya Urco viewpoint for photographs, followed by a visit to the Santa Ana Ethno-Historical-Religious Museum, showcasing 16th-century local architecture.
The day concludes with a visit to the Santa Isabel orchid nursery, located in the southern part of the city. After approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, participants will be returned to their hotels in Chachapoyas.
