Oxapampa & Yanachaga National Park Trip

We'll pick you up at 8 am from your hotel in La Merced and set off on a trip to the north.

Our trip will start with a visit to Oxapampa, the capital of the province of the same name, founded by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century. Their descendants now live in this town where European and Andean cultures come together.

We'll visit the districts of Oxapampa, including Miraflores and Llamaquizu, while observing traditional houses on Paseo de los Colonos. During the tour, we’ll pass by the church of Santa Rosa, known for its Tyrolean style building.

After this visit, our trip will continue in the Oxapampa valley, stopping at the Huarapo estate to learn about sugar cane brandy production and taste this typical drink. We’ll also visit a trout farm and a dairy plant to understand the livelihoods of local farmers.

You'll be given some free time for lunch, and shortly we'll head to the Yanachaga National Park, located in the Amazon rainforest, providing an opportunity to experience jungle life in central Peru.

After a full day, we’ll conclude the trip and return to La Merced, arriving at your hotel at around 5 pm.
