Oxapampa & Yanachaga National Park Trip

We'll pick you up at 8 am from your hotel in La Merced and set off on a trip to the north.

Our trip will start with a visit to Oxapampa, the capital of the province of the same name, founded by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century. Their descendants now live in this town, where European and Andean cultures come together.

We'll visit the districts of Oxapampa, including the neighbourhood of Miraflores and Llamaquizu, while observing the traditional houses of the Paseo de los Colonos. During the tour, we’ll pass by the church of Santa Rosa, notable for its Tyrolean style building.

After this visit, our trip will continue in the Oxapampa valley with a stop at the Huarapo estate, where we’ll learn about the process of making sugar cane brandy and have the opportunity to taste this drink. We’ll also visit a trout farm and a dairy plant to understand more about the livelihood of farmers in the region.

You will have free time for lunch before we adventure on to the Yanachaga National Park, located in the Amazon rainforest, providing a great opportunity to experience jungle life in central Peru.

After a full day of exploration, we’ll conclude the trip and return to La Merced, arriving at your hotel at around 5 pm.
