On the day of the activity, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Spiral Odyssey Sculpture in Romare Bearden Park. We'll begin this walking tour of the city of Charlotte to discover its charms. This tour will offer a look into Charlotte's past and present.

At the starting point, we will immerse ourselves in the park where lush greenery meets urban art. Then, we'll leave the park as our guide explains the city's evolution from a trading post along the Catawba path to a major banking hub. We will learn about the influence of former gold mines on the city's economy and trace its growth from milltowns to a modern metropolis.

During the walking tour, we'll hear about the legacy of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, after whom the city was named, as well as connections to Romare Bearden and Michael Jordan. We'll make stops to see vibrant street art, skyscrapers, and important landmarks.

After 1 hour and almost 2 kilometres of walking, the tour will conclude at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
