On this guided walking tour of Chefchaouen, we will explore the historic center of this city, known as the blue city of Morocco.
Tour Details
Our tour will begin at the foot of Chefchaouen at a central location in the city. We will first visit the Spanish neighbourhood, learning about the historical ties between Spain and Morocco.
Next, we will proceed to the ancient medina of Chefchaouen, admiring the exterior of the Grand Mosque. We will also stop at Plaza Utta-el-Hamman to observe the Kasbah or Alcazaba, which dates back to the 15th century, built in 1471 by Rachid Ben Ali.
Our exploration will take us to the old city wall gates: Bab Ell Ain, Bab Souk, and Bab Onsar. As we walk under these gates, we will see the famous blue houses of Chefchaouen and learn about the significance of their indigo color.
After 2 hours of exploration, we will conclude our tour of Chefchaouen.
