First, we'll walk through the Spanish Quarter of Chefchaouen, learning about the links between Spain and Morocco throughout history. What is the colonial legacy of this area of North Africa? Your English-speaking guide will reveal all about the city's past as you admire its spectacular architecture.

We'll continue our private tour of Chefchaouen by visiting the old Medina. Wandering through the winding, cobbled streets of the historic centre, you'll be captivated by the stunning façades of the Place Outa Hammam, an imposing 14th-century fortress, or Kasbah, and the Great Mosque. We'll also stop to see the old gates in the city wall: Bab El Ain, Bab Souk and Bab Onsar. Passing between the old entrances, we'll see the iconic blue houses of Chefchaouen which have made the Moroccan city so popular in recent years. Do you know why they decided to paint the houses blue?

At the end of your two-and-a-half-hour walking tour around Chefchaouen's historic centre, we'll make our way back to Place Mohammed V. If you prefer, we can finish the tour by the souk or elsewhere in the old town.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the Hotel Madrid in Chefchaouen. However, during the booking process, you'll need to provide the name and address of your hotel in the Medina so that we can arrange a meeting point as close as possible to your accommodation.
