Hike Details

Day 1: Chefchaouen – Azilane

Meet at the Hotel Madrid in Chefchaouen and begin the trek. The first hiking trail lasts around seven hours, starting with a three-hour walk through Talassemtane National Park where we'll stop for a picnic. The second stretch lasts four hours, passing through the rural village of Afeska, concluding in Azilane for dinner and an overnight stay in a mountain lodge.

Day 2: Azilane – Akchour – Chefchaouen

After breakfast in Azilane, we will trek for five hours to God's Bridge in Talassemtane National Park, then visit Akchour Waterfalls. A picnic will be enjoyed here before concluding the trek in Akchour at 5:15 pm, requiring a taxi back to Chefchaouen, approximately 45 minutes costing around 18 USD (22 Euros) for up to four people.

4-Day Route

The first day follows the same itinerary as the 2-day trek. On the second day, hike from Azilane to Taourarte, an eight-hour trek through the Rif mountains with a picnic break and an overnight stay in a rural lodge.

The third day consists of a trek from Taourarte to Akchour, lasting eight hours with a focus on wildlife observation. Highlights include the Akchour waterfalls and a night at a mountain lodge in Akchour.

The fourth day features a 6-hour trek from Akchour to Chefchaouen, divided into two 3-hour segments. The day includes a picnic and a guided tour of Chefchaouen, concluding at 6 pm.

The route includes 3 nights of accommodation in mountain lodges:

The stay includes dinner and breakfast, but 3 lunches are not provided; bringing picnics is recommended.
