Dujiangyan Panda Base Volunteer Private Experience

Engage in a unique experience with the Dujiangyan Panda Base Volunteer Program originating from Chengdu. Contribute to the preparation of the pandas' preferred meals alongside the staff!

Activity Overview

Your journey begins with a hotel pickup in Chengdu, leading you directly to the Dujiangyan Panda Bear Reserve, situated about two hours away.

Upon reaching the reserve, you’ll don uniforms similar to those of the center’s personnel and explore the facilities where panda bears reside. This natural habitat is rich with bamboo and diverse vegetation for the animals.

Following this, you will observe how volunteers prepare the food for the pandas before feeding them. Interestingly, their diet comprises more than just bamboo! After assisting the staff with various tasks, including preparing the sleeping areas for the animals, you’ll enjoy lunch in the staff cafeteria.

Post-lunch, a documentary focusing on panda bears will be screened. Subsequently, you will prepare a delightful snack for the pandas, crafting a tasty fruit and corn cake that they thoroughly enjoy!

Finally, we will return, with a brief stop at the Dujiangyan Zhongshug, renowned as one of the world’s most stunning bookstores, featuring towering columns filled with countless tomes, seemingly endless due to the expansive mirrors.

After a fulfilling 7 hours of activities, you'll be taken back to your hotel in Chengdu.

Entry to the Dujiangyan Panda Reserve is restricted to individuals aged between 8 and 70 years.
