Private Leshan Buddha Tour

After picking you up at your hotel in Chengdu, we will head to Leshan, located approximately two and a half hours away in the province of Sichuan.

Upon arrival, we will begin with a guided tour around the Leshan Giant Buddha. This colossal sculpture stands at 71 metres (232 feet) high and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sculpted in the 8th century into the Mount Lingyun cliff. It is one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world.

This area is notable for being where several rivers meet. The Giant Buddha was built to protect those who sailed in the turbulent waters, and the currents subsided after the sculpture's creation. The reason has a technical explanation that will be discussed during the tour.

To see the Giant Buddha, you can choose to take a boat ride for the best photo views or climb the mountain on foot, passing Buddhist temples and ancient sculptures along the way.

We will conclude the tour at a local restaurant, where you will have free time to taste traditional Sichuan cuisine at your own expense.

After lunch, we will return to Chengdu and drop you off at your hotel after 10 hours of activity.
