After picking you up at your hotel in Chengdu, we'll head to Leshan, approximately two and a half hours away in the Sichuan province.

Upon arrival, we'll begin with a guided tour around the Leshan Giant Buddha. This colossal sculpture stands at 71 metres (232 feet) high and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sculpted in the 8th century into the Mount Lingyun cliff. It is one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world.

This area is notable for where several rivers meet. The Giant Buddha was constructed to protect those who sailed the turbulent waters, and the ferocity of the currents subsided after its creation due to technical reasons we will explain during the tour.

You can choose to take a boat ride for the best views to take photos or climb the mountain on foot, passing by Buddhist temples and ancient sculptures along the way.

Regardless of your mode of transport, we will discover the significance of the local saying, "The mountain is Buddha and Buddha is the mountain." The magnificent sculpture is also a pilgrimage center for many devotees.

We will conclude our tour with free time to taste traditional Sichuan cuisine at a local restaurant, at your own expense. After lunch, we will return to Chengdu, completing 10 hours of activity before dropping you off at your hotel.
