Discover the Old City and the most important Buddhist temples in northern Thailand on this fantastic private tour of Chiang Mai!
Description
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai to begin exploring some of the city's most emblematic sites and important temples, reflecting over 700 years of history.
The tour will start with a visit to the Wat Phra Singh Temple, a significant sanctuary dating back to the mid-14th century, located in the western part of the Old City.
Next, we will visit the Wat Chedi Luang Temple, which was once a fortress against Burmese invasions. Inside, we will see the large chedi that housed the Emerald Buddha. Continuing through the historic center, our guide will take us to the Wat Chiang Man Temple, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, known for its various spaces and numerous elephant figures in its chedi.
We will then explore a unique wooden temple, which showcases intricate woodwork and a significant Buddha statue. Rituals may be observed on certain days.
After visiting these temples, we'll stop at a local fruit and vegetable market to learn about Thai culinary products. The tour concludes after four to four and a half hours of exploration.
