Discover the spectacular mountain landscapes of northern Thailand by trekking in Chiang Rai. Spend two or three days exploring rice paddies, tea plantations and pretty rural villages.
Chiang Rai Trekking
Day 1
The adventure begins at 10 am with a pickup from your hotel in Chiang Rai, followed by a trip to the Kok River for a ride on a traditional longtail boat. After an hour, we disembark to meet members of the Karen hill tribe and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant . Post-lunch, we embark on a trek through rice paddies and bamboo forests to a viewpoint overlooking the mountain landscapes. Continuing through tropical forests, we reach the village Yafu, where members of the Lahu hill tribe will host us for a delicious dinner before overnighting in a bamboo cabin.
Day 2
After breakfast, we begin a two-hour trek to another hill tribe village. There, our guide will prepare a lunch using a traditional bamboo technique. Following lunch, we will visit nearby hot springs for relaxation. The trek concludes with a return to hotels in Chiang Rai.
3 Day Trek
Reservations allow for a choice between a two-day trek or a three-day trek around Chiang Rai. On the second day of the three-day trek, we will visit the Huay Mae Sai Waterfalls and meet the Akha hill tribe. The second night is spent in tents near Yafu village, and on the third day, we hike to the Karen village and visit the hot springs before being dropped off in Chiang Rai at 3 pm.
Tour Accommodation
The two-day trek includes one night in bamboo cabins of the Lahu hill tribe, while the three-day trek features a second night in tents.
