Chepe Express 3-Day Tour: Creel & Copper Canyon

On our 3-Day Tour around Creel and the Copper Canyon, we'll travel through scenic landscapes aboard the Chepe Express. Join us for an adventure through the Sierra Tarahumara!

3-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Chihuahua - Creel

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua and head to Creel. Along the way, we will visit the Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc, including a regional museum, the Américas cheese factory, and a local bakery for lunch with empanadas de queso.

After lunch, we will visit Lake Arareco, Los Hongos and Ranas Valley, the Jesuit mission of San Ignacio, and a cave of the Tarahumara Indigenous people.

We will then arrive in Creel for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Creel - Divisadero

After breakfast, we will go to the Creel train station and board the Chepe Express to Divisadero, enjoying views of the Sierra Tarahumara. Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel for lunch.

Post-lunch, you will have 4 hours to explore the Copper Canyon Adventure Park, participate in activities, visit viewpoints, cross a suspension bridge, and walk through pine forests. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 3: Divisadero - Chihuahua

After breakfast, you will have 1 hour of free time for hiking around the Copper Canyon.

We will return to your hotel in Chihuahua by 3 pm.

Partial Closures

The Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc will be closed on Sundays. If the tour coincides with this date, the visit will be replaced with a lunch in a Mennonite restaurant.

Accommodation Info

This tour includes 2 nights' accommodation:

Creel (1st night): Hacienda Don Armando (4 stars) or similar.Divisadero (2nd night): Hotel Divisadero Barrancas (4 stars) or similar.

Additional Info

If 2 adults and 1 child share a room, book 2 adults in a double room plus 1 child. For 1 adult and 1 child, book 1 adult in a single room plus 1 child.

You can only make 1 reservation per room type; bookings for different room types at the same time are not allowed.

Itinerary Adjustments

The Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc is closed on Sundays. If the tour coincides with this date, we will substitute this visit with lunch at a Mennonite restaurant.
