Cuauhtemoc Mennonite Fields Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua at 9 am and depart for Cuauhtemoc, the third-largest city in the state. Once we arrive, we'll head to the outskirts to visit the vast fields nearby, which are crucial to the livelihood of the Mennonites, an Anabaptist Christian community that preserves customs dating back to the 16th century. Their lifestyle is based on the doctrines of Menno Simons, a key theologian of Anabaptism.
During the tour, we'll learn about the daily life of Mexican Mennonites and their society by visiting the Mennonite Museum, where many facts about this community will be shared. A notable aspect of their culture is the refusal to use technology and their use of a language derived from Old German.
After the museum visit, we'll enjoy a cheese and sausage tasting made by the Mennonites, using traditional techniques to create completely natural products. Finally, after the tasting, we'll return to your hotel in Chihuahua, arriving at 2 pm.
