Cuauhtemoc Mennonite Fields Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua at 9 am and depart for Cuauhtemoc, the third-largest city in the state.
Once we arrive there, we'll head to the outskirts of Cuauhtemoc to visit the vast fields nearby. These crops are essential to the livelihood of the Mennonites, a community of the Anabaptist Christian movement that preserves customs and traditions dating back to the 16th century. Their way of life is based on the doctrines of Protestant leader Menno Simons, a key theologian of Anabaptism.
We'll explore day-to-day life for Mexican Mennonites and their society by visiting the Mennonite Museum, where we will share various facts about this community. Among their distinguishing traits is the refusal to use any kind of technology and the use of a language derived from Old German.
After visiting the museum, we'll enjoy a cheese and sausage tasting made by the Mennonites, following traditional techniques that result in completely natural products.
Finally, after the tasting, we'll return to your hotel in Chihuahua, arriving at 2 pm.
