Paquimé & Mata Ortiz Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll meet you at your hotel in Chihuahua and set off for Casas Grandes. On the outskirts of this town, we'll find the Paquimé Archaeological Site, which has significant pre-Hispanic remains.
Upon arrival at Paquimé, we'll take a guided tour of the Museum of Northern Cultures. This collection houses numerous pre-Hispanic artefacts from northern Mexico, offering insight into the society and culture of this period.
We will then visit the archaeological remains of the Paquimé culture, designated as a World Heritage Site. During our visit, we will learn about the customs and traditions of this ancient culture by observing their remains.
Following this, we will travel to Mata Ortiz, known for its handmade pottery. This pottery is an effort to reproduce artistic objects from the Paquimé Archaeological Site. We will attend a pottery demonstration to witness how master craftsmen work with clay.
Next, we will enjoy a traditional meal at a restaurant in Mata Ortiz, featuring various regional delicacies. After approximately 8 hours, we will return to your hotel in Chihuahua.
