Patagonia Hike to the Cueva de las Manos
Pickup will be at your hotel in Chile Chico at 7:30 am. We will travel by minibus or 4x4 to the trailhead in Patagonia National Park to commence our hike.
The trek spans 7 kilometers (4.4 miles) and is rated as medium difficulty. We journey through the Patagonian plains, moving away from the shore of Lake General Carrera, and observe the changing landscape.
Multiple stops will be made to explore geological features, including the notable Piedra Clavada, a needle-shaped rock 40 meters (130 feet) high, shaped by wind erosion.
Our destination is the Cueva de las Manos (Cave of the Hands), known for its petroglyphs over 10,000 years old. Here we will view the ancient artworks depicting animals hunted by prehistoric inhabitants, alongside hand outlines.
We will conclude our hike in the unique Lunar Valley, known for its moon-like landscapes, where we will enjoy a light snack.
After the hike, we will return to the trail's start and then head back to your hotel in Chile Chico, arriving at approximately 1:30 pm.
