Sisga Dam Hiking Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the main gate of the Senderos del Sisga campsite to begin an 8-kilometer (5-mile) hiking route around the Sisga Dam.
Leaving the Sisga lagoon behind, we'll ascend Cerro La Leonera, a hill featuring numerous cypress trees and endemic plants characteristic of the high Andean forest of Colombia.
We'll reach the strip that separates the sierra from the Chingaza páramo, a refuge of flora and fauna situated in the heart of the Andes. This area serves as a water source for Bogotá.
During the hike, we'll observe pajonales, chusques, and senecios, among other species. After reaching an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,500 feet), we will retrace our steps back to the Sisga Dam.
The activity will conclude after four hours at the starting point.
