Tepuhueico Park Coastal Hike
- 5 - 7 Stunden
On this hike, we'll tour the coastline of Tepuhueico Park, known for its dunes and contrasting colours.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel. Alternatively, you can meet us directly at the lodge in Tepuhueico Park to begin this hiking activity around Chiloé's Pacific coastline. After preparing, we'll explore the coastal area of Tepuhueico Park, starting with Quilán Beach to admire the sand dunes and the beauty of this natural space. We will also visit the Muelle del Tiempo at Punta Pilol, perfect for photos. This beach is notable for its gold diggers and fossil discoveries that we'll discuss during the hike.
Continuing the tour on foot, we will head to a viewpoint to observe birds, including the Lile duck, native to Chile and Peru. We will pass stunning cliffs and hike towards Tricolour Beach, named for the forest, sand, and sea colours, where we will learn about local fishing and seaweed-collecting traditions.
After a total of 5 to 6 hours, we will return to the starting point.
Pickup
This tour includes pickup from hotels in Castro and Chonchi. If you're staying elsewhere, you can choose the option without pickup and proceed to the Tepuhueico Lodge independently.
