Almadenes Gorge Hiking Activity

At 9 am, we'll meet at the Almadenes Visitor Centre and set off on a 4.6-mile (7.5-kilometre) hike through one of the protected natural areas in Cieza.

As we begin hiking through the Almadenes Gorge, we'll come to its hydroelectric power station, which collects water from the Mulata Dam. We will navigate through the forest tracks that lead to different viewpoints within this natural park in the Region of Murcia.

We will observe the local flora and fauna while discussing the geological formation of this area. The gorge extends approximately 7 miles (12 kilometres) long.

Our route will also include a visit to the Los Losares marble quarry, abandoned over 30 years ago, offering panoramic views of the sierras of Oro, La Palera, La Atalaya, and Cieza.

We will conclude our activity at 12 noon, returning to the starting point.
