Cochabamba Churches Tour
We'll meet at the Plaza de Colón at the scheduled time to begin this tour of the most important churches of the metropolitan axis of Cochabamba, which includes districts such as Tiquipaya and Quillacollo.
We'll start with a visit to the exterior of the Cathedral of San Sebastian, admiring its Corinthian columns and pointed rose window. We'll learn about the history of this temple, then stop in front of the parish church of San Miguel de Tiquipaya, known for its two-coloured façade and stepped bell tower.
Next, we'll head to the outskirts to see the church of Santiago Apóstol de El Paso and discover its significance for the community. Following this, we'll proceed to Quillacollo.
In Quillacollo, we'll first visit the exterior of the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, located in a quiet square, where we will discuss the four centuries of history of this basilica.
Lastly, we'll go to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Urkupiña, known for its religious legend related to the Virgen María Asunta, which will be revealed to conclude the tour.
After a four-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point.
