Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Colón, from where we'll walk to the Convent of Santa Teresa, founded in 1760. This baroque-style monastery has been the residence of the Discalced Carmelite Sisters since its construction and is an important example of the architectural and cultural heritage of the city, recently restored for visitor enjoyment.
The tour will take us through the different sections of the convent-museum, immersing us in its solemnity and silence. We'll see the mural paintings in some rooms and the church. In the temple, we will admire religious works of art on the main altar, including the central altarpiece with decorations in gold leaf.
We'll also walk through the cloister of the convent, featuring a beautiful stone arcade. This tour lasts just under 2 hours, concluding with farewells at the exit.
