Description
We will gather at the designated time in the Plaza de Colón and embark on a short walk towards the Convent of Santa Teresa, a landmark steeped in history.
Established in 1760, this baroque-style monastery has been home to the Discalced Carmelite Sisters. The convent stands as a notable representation of Bolivia's architectural and cultural richness and has undergone recent restorations, enhancing its allure for visitors.
The tour will lead us through various sections of the convent-museum, allowing us to experience its tranquil atmosphere. We will observe the mural paintings adorning several rooms and enter the church, where exquisite religious artworks are displayed on the main altar, including the stunning central altarpiece embellished with gold leaf decorations.
Our journey will also take us through the cloister, characterized by a charming stone arcade. After nearly two hours of discovering this remarkable spiritual site, we will conclude our visit and exchange farewells at the exit.
