With this guided tour of the Convent Museum of Santa Teresa, you'll explore one of the oldest religious monuments of Cochabamba.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Colón and walk to the Convent of Santa Teresa, founded in 1760. This baroque-style monastery has been the residence of the Discalced Carmelite Sisters since its construction and is a vital example of the region's architectural and cultural heritage.
The tour includes a visit to different sections of the convent-museum, experiencing its solemnity and silence. We will view the mural paintings in various rooms, as well as the church, where religious art is preserved on the main altar, including the central altarpiece decorated with gold leaf.
We will also walk through the cloister of the convent, featuring a stone arcade. The tour lasts a little less than 2 hours, concluding at the exit with farewells.
