Incallajta Fort Tour
The tour starts at 8 am with a hotel pickup, departing from Cochabamba to the high valley. The itinerary includes crossing the Andean plains and passing the Angostura Lagoon, a significant artificial lake used for recreation.
Upon arrival at Incallajta fort, a key archaeological site in Bolivia, you will learn that "incallajta" translates to "city of the Inca." This site is part of the Inca Axis, a historical route connecting prominent areas of the Inca civilization, including Machu Picchu in Peru and Samaipata and Incallajta in Bolivia. Samaipata was the main city of Collasuyo, one of the four divisions of the Inca Empire.
During the tour, you will walk along Inca roads and explore well-preserved stone structures, including famous squares, courtyards, and temples like the Kallanka. You will gain insights into the history of the Inca Empire. A picnic lunch is included, allowing for further exploration and photography opportunities at the archaeological complex.
The tour concludes with a return trip to Cochabamba, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
