Tarata, Cliza & La Angostura Lake Trip
Meeting at 10 am in the Plaza de Colón square in Cochabamba, we will travel to Tarata, approximately 50 minutes away.
We will explore Tarata for two and a half hours, walking through the streets and squares, and viewing historical buildings such as the San Pedro church and Town Hall. We will also see the Melgarejo Bridge located on a street and learn its history.
A stop for a traditional meal will be included, featuring a main course and the typical drink, chicha de maíz. After lunch, a visit to the Tarata market will follow before we board the minibus again.
Next, we will visit the carob forest of Tiataco, a 15-minute drive away, and embark on a short 35-minute hike, learning about Andean culture, followed by a brief stop in the village of Tiataco.
The journey continues at the Cliza farmer's market and the town's main square, notable for the clock tower of Nuestra Señora del Carmen church.
Lastly, we'll stop by the Angostura lagoon for views before returning to Cochabamba, arriving at Plaza de Colón at 5:15 pm.
