Discover the villages of the Valle Alto region on this trip to Tarata, Cliza and La Angostura Lake from Cochabamba, focusing on traditional life and indigenous culture of Bolivia.
Tarata, Cliza & La Angostura Lake Trip
Meet at 10 am in the Plaza de Colón square in Cochabamba, and then travel to Tarata, approximately 50 minutes away.
In Tarata, explore for two and a half hours, visiting historical sites such as San Pedro church, the Town Hall, and the Melgarejo Bridge. A traditional meal will be served, including a main course and chicha de maíz. After lunch, visit the Tarata market before boarding the minibus.
Next, head to the carob forest of Tiataco, a 15-minute drive away, for a short 35-minute hike while learning about Andean culture. A brief visit to the village of Tiataco is also included before proceeding to Cliza.
The trip continues at the Cliza farmer's market and the main square, where the clock tower of Nuestra Señora del Carmen church stands out as one of the oldest in the area.
Afterward, enjoy views at the Angostura lagoon before returning to Cochabamba, arriving at Plaza de Colón by 5:15 pm.
