Toro Toro, Itas and Valle Alto 3-Day Private Tour
Day 1: Cochabamba - Toro Toro - Umajalanta
We'll meet at 8 am at Calle Baptista and board the bus for a five-hour trip to Toro Toro National Park. En route, we will pass through colonial villages such as Tarata and Anzaldo. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and visit the Toro Toro valley canyon to see dinosaur footprints and geological strata from the prehistoric Cretaceous Sea. We will conclude the day with dinner and rest at our hotel in Toro Toro.
Day 2: Itas - Cochabamba
After breakfast, we will head to Itas, located at 700 meters altitude. We will explore sandstone labyrinths and rock formations, as well as enigmatic cave paintings. After this excursion, we will return to Toro Toro to collect our luggage and then head back to Cochabamba.
Day 3: High Valley - Cochabamba
After breakfast, we will visit the High Valley, starting with the town of Arani, known for its giant cheese bread called mama qonqachis. We will visit San Bartolomé Church, known as La Bella. Next, we will visit Punata, significant during the Bolivian War of Independence, and a workshop making rosquetes, typical sweets. Our final visit will be to Huayculi, the capital of pottery, with a stop in the village of Tarata to walk through its colonial streets. The tour will conclude back at Calle Baptista around 5 pm.
