Guided Tour of Kochi
The guided tour begins at the port of Kochi where we board a minibus to Fort Kochi, the oldest part of the city. At Fort Kochi, we will see traditional 'Chinese fishing nets,' which have been used for centuries. You will learn about their history and usage, imported to India from China in the 14th century.
The tour continues at St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India, where Vasco da Gama was initially buried until 1539. Nearby is the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, known for its stained glass windows and fresco paintings.
From Fort Kochi, we head to the Dhobi Khana neighborhood to visit the Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) and the Paradesi Synagogue, which is significant to the Jewish community in Asia.
The tour concludes with a return to the port in Kochi.
