After being picked up at Kochi port, you'll embark on a one hour and 45 minute drive on a comfortable air-conditioned bus to Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey. Here you'll climb aboard a houseboat and begin your adventure through the Keralan backwaters.

As you cruise on your covered houseboat, admire the area's waterfront vegetation, including rice paddies and coconut palms. You'll have time to photograph these unforgettable views.

During your cruise, you'll enjoy a traditional Keralan meal on board, featuring rice, chicken, fish, salad, vegetables, and poppadums. After two hours of sailing, you'll disembark your houseboat and be driven to the Fort Kochi area, the historic heart of Kerala.

At Fort Kochi, learn about the region's history, especially the ancient Chinese fishing nets used to supply fresh fish for centuries.

After a day of history and sights, you'll be taken back to Kochi port by bus to return to your cruise ship.

This tour is a shore excursion for cruise passengers and takes place in a group.We recommend wearing cool, comfortable clothing, like long cotton tops, trousers or skirts.Ships arriving after 11 am will not stop to see the Chinese fishing nets.
